Prospective Residents

Eligibility

All applicants for appointments at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics must be graduates of medical schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Students applying for first-year positions are required to register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP/ERAS).

Exceptionally qualified graduates of foreign medical schools are eligible for appointment, provided they have been certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Wisconsin licensure is required of all residents who have completed one year of approved postgraduate training in the United States or Canada.
